In 2001 Alien Cells Rained On Earth And Its Not Common Knowledge

In 2001 in India over the span of two months sporadic red rains fell. The color was caused by single celled organisms which reproduce at extremely high temperatures, Do not contain any DNA, and fluoresce in a way unlike any life on earth does. I have been following this story since sometime in 2002...

Goat Fail The Yermit Is Mine!

While browsing the wares of some of my favorite plush toy designers I came across this great little gem considered by her creator to be flawed. I disagree, it is beautiful because its a fail. Only a failure can reveal the highest aspirations of its maker. I propose that everyone who creates has to in a small way enjoy the moment of failure....

A Problem For Blogger

Everyone who blogs tries to do what they can to gain more readers and you would think that the host for your blog is also doing what it can can to bring you more readers. They often try to convince us to pay for services which attempt to provide that. Heres the bomb, I believe that blogger is not doing all that they can for their paying customers...

Well after another false start I think can finally, really get going now. For the last day I had been unable to use the most basic features to post, such as adding a picture. I had neither the ability or the desire to decipher the thousand words per and was forced to fix the problem. So here we are with the picture

All I have ever wanted for Christmas or any time really, are rocks. Rocks? you may ask, space rocks I may say, oooh you may ooh, I can't be the only one out there who suffers from this desire. If you have a favorite geek this is the all time winner. You will have the undying love of a dork for the rest of your life.

This Post Should'nt Have Even Been Written

I had a kind of a crisis a couple of weeks ago that will probably give a good indication as to who in the family reads this. It started out so faint that for a few days I wasn't even sure I could smell it at all. It was a slightly familiar odor that seemed to have no source.

Blocks1

Here's the piece for today. I felt like we needed a little color at the top. The posts recently have been a little morbid lately, but I'll see what I can do about it, anyway the prints are over here

Updated! How Is This Done? Chinese Carved Leaves

Awesome, but how did you do it? I was directed to this item and am amazed yet there is a very strong WTF yanking at the back of my mind which only grows the more I've looked into it. Ostensibly these are said to be the result of hand carving. I kind think that this is either done with a printing process or we're looking at a massive human rights violation here, kidding (kind of).

Awesome NOVA Episode On Fractals

Nova has long been the among the best of our television choices, and just when you thought that they could'nt get better they went and put it online. I guess thats not too new but no less awesome. I have myself been watching it over and over again its a great primer on the basics of fractal design and mathmatics and it can be viewed in its entirety and for free right here

Slow Rainy Day

Net Array

You know, keeping with the security theme and all. Its stuff can be found here.

The Ashville Connection Has A Psychic Firewall And Thinks Your Children Are Stupid

At first I was amused by the Helter Skelter design philosophy. I was finding it pretty nuts, but then I saw Mackys Teen Club and couldn't help myself. I found a page that was apparently psychic because It carried the warning "Warning: If you are under 13 years old and you try to enter the teen club your IP address will be captured and you will be reported!"

The Modern Prometheus

This is primaraly the reason for my appreciation of the Internet Archive; Frankenstein all thirteen chapters of the radio play can be found here. this is the full 1938 radio performance produced by and staring George Edwards (the Austrailian Orson Welles) along with some comedic examples such as Gene Wilder and the monster performing Putting On The Ritz. p.s. yes I am aware that the picture is of Boris Karloff and he is not the monster featured in any of these recordings.

Dead Links?

I found one today. I hope I find no more. if you come across any please let me know. no one likes to find a corpse page. Its like when you go to the beach or a park and you find a dead guy. You have to tell someone, I'm not going to blame you or anything. I probobly killed it by accident myself, no one has to know. thanks

Some Updates

I updated another four images which required re-rendering for correct size, uploading to Redbubble, uploading to here and then linking here and there and there to here, but there is a degree of satisfaction to seeing a absurd process all the way through, you know, ritual. Which is a lot of what this blog has become for me, and so far it seems to be a good thing.

Who does'nt love a good explosion! "and a Mandlebrot explosion to boot" (look carefully)

Severed Right Feet Mystery Solved?

A really strange phenomenon which I have been following casually for the last few years, has been the string of severed right feet washing up periodically in British Columbia. Always right feet and always in a sneaker. I've heard many peoples explanation for this and they are all pretty weak. Some are down right conspiracy theories okay most of them are.

In Memory Of The Blue Screen Of Death

I can't say I've missed you BSD but like a close enemy or an evil friend I was affected by what we shared. But now let the cold stake of progress remain forever locked in your breast.

Gausian Orbits

Allright so its on the black and white calendar and you may have seen it, but I just want to see it up here. I hope you like it.
It does a wierd thing at certain resolutions where when you scroll the page up and down slowly, the smallest dots can appear to rotate around the largest dot which is only partialy in the frame. Oh and prints are here

The Ninth Of December

Today while in Santa Rosa, I ate a prickly pear right off the cactus. It was delicious. The first time I visited, while I was standing under a very old large oak tree I discovered nearly a pound of Black Truffles all in a clump. I always seem to find something good to eat growing around there.
Once I got home I continued the recovery process of my computer

Anarchy For Plaid

Here Is a piece which I created for a project in which I attempted to ruin plaid for everyone. I did a lot of work during this period and most likely will return to it at some point. Prints can be had here

A Blogging Foul, The False Start

First off in the spirit of transparency. I must confess that the last couple of posts have been edited in gmail. I recently had a computational catastrophe of William Gibson like proportions. a few hours later it left me forced to carry out a non destructive restore. Which as we know is not so non destructive if your a application which requires a registration key.

Time Lapse Of Mercury Attaking Aluminum

Here's a another good reason among many not to live in a home made of aluminum. This is what a small amount of mercury will do. The gas created in this chain reaction is highly poisonous. So a big do not try this at home.

Calendar Recieved, Finally On Wall Where It Belongs

OK, The Undertaker has finally recieved her Calendar of my work(The one we spoke about in the post titled Why No Rectilinear Calender Yet?) which she purchased at Redbubble. They lost the first one they sent out, but once they were told about it they promptly sent another one which then arrived without a hitch. I was starting to wonder what kind of place I was running around here. Hopefully she will update the thread on the Calendar post to reflect her overwhelming joy at having recieved one of my 2010 Calendars. Whew! if not I will be content with the photo she sent me of it on the wall it was meant for!

Your busted Samuel, see the evidence for yourself and you will finally see why you've never seen them both at the same time and why him getting jealous over that girl who was dating him both at the same time suddenly seems even more crazy.

BoxoZ24

Hola folks, I sure like orange, with rich color. I am trying to decide what the next project is going to be. I have a lot waiting in line. One thing I am sure about is it will be noisy, possibly even musical but we will have to be patient. Actually by the time you read this the decision will allready have been made, most likely. So you don't be stressing it.

Here's an older piece that i'm sure will brighten up the blog for a post or two. No canaries were actually harmed.

Wonderfully Sad Piece On a Chronicly Ill Sports Coat By William Michaelian

Found in Recently Banned Books is a sad piece that could have been written about your dog or your Grandma. I think he should send it around the country having different people trying it and photographing themselves in it. This coat won't be around forever and I know I'd like to see more of the country before I die. Just a suggestion. It can be found here at Recently Banned Books

Planes8

I do not quite remember what I was thinking at the time but I still really like it. The not remembering can make these more enjoyable for me than it is for the ones were I know and understand each of my decisions, because these ones will always hold a mystery of  conception. here be the prints

Update; I think it was ice cream mmm.
